About the AI Diary

What is this?

Journaling is one of the most evidence-backed wellbeing practices. Studies by psychologists like James Pennebaker have shown that expressive writing — putting thoughts and feelings into words — reduces stress, improves mood, and even strengthens immune function. A diary turns fleeting experiences into a lasting record you can revisit, reflect on, and learn from. The AI-assist feature helps lower the barrier to writing by drafting an entry from your day's activities.

How it works

In AI mode, the app gathers today's events — tasks you completed, habits you logged, and calculations you performed — and sends them to a language model along with your chosen sentiment, length, and weather. The AI drafts a first-person diary entry, which you can edit freely or rewrite entirely. In manual mode, you write everything yourself. All entries are stored locally on your device.

Reference ranges

Short2–3 sentences
Medium4–6 sentences
Long7–10 sentences
Good to know: When you use the AI-assist, the diary text and your chosen options are sent to our AI provider over an encrypted connection to generate the entry. The text is used only to produce your entry and is not stored or used to train models. Your other diary entries remain on your device.

Frequently asked questions

Is my diary private?

Yes. Your diary entries are stored locally on your device in your browser's storage. They are not uploaded to any server unless you explicitly use a sync feature. The AI-assist only sends the current generation request to produce your entry.

Can I edit the AI-generated text?

Absolutely. The AI draft is a starting point — you can edit it as much or as little as you like, or switch to manual mode to write entirely yourself. Many users find that editing an AI draft is easier than starting from a blank page.

How often should I journal?

There is no right answer. Some people benefit from daily entries, others from weekly reflections. The key is consistency — even a few sentences regularly is more valuable than long, infrequent entries. Find a rhythm that fits your life.
